چکیده

This study evaluated the in vitro and vivo free radical scavenging potentials of methanol extract Ficus thonningii leaf its liquid chromatography-mass spectrometer (LCMS) profiling. The qualitative phytochemical screening was carried out results show presence tannins, flavonoids, saponins glycoside triterpenes. Antioxidant activities were reducing power shows a value 0.53 ± 0.007 with significant (p < 0.05) difference compared to control Diphenylpicrylhydrazyl (DPPH) 59.0 significantly different control. However, two assays are concentration-dependent. analysis that lipid peroxidation, superoxide dismutase catalase have values 24.03± 8.04, 1.60± 0.03 0.003± 0.001 respectively. All when LCMS revealed some important metabolites; phenolic glycosides quassin, which potential molecules against radicals. Therefore, contains vital antioxidants could be used health management boost immune system or drug development.

Free radical scavenging potential of Saussarea costus.

Saussurea costus (Falc.) Lipschitz from the family Asteraceae is an important medicinal drug, the roots of which are widely used in folk medicine. The antioxidant activity of the plant has been studied using its ability to scavenge DPPH, nitric oxide, superoxide radicals along with its ability to inhibit lipid peroxidation and GSH oxidation. The 1 mg mL(-1) extract had antioxidant activity with...

Free Radical Scavenging Principles of Salvia reuterana Boiss. Aerial Parts

Salvia reuterana Bioss. is an aromatic perennial plant traditionally used for its anxiolytic and sedative properties. In the present study, various fractions and essential oil of S. reuterana aerial parts were investigated to find its free radical scavenging principles. Hydroalcoholic fraction with IC50 value of 112.6 ±3.2 μg ml-1 in DPPH assay demonstrated the highest free radical scavenging a...

Free Radical Scavenging Activity of Some Plants Available in Malaysia

The present study was carried out to determine the free radical scavenging properties of some plants, found in Malaysia. The air-dried leaves of each plant (20 g) were soaked in distilled water (1:20; w/v) for 72 h at room temperature. Collected supernatants were tested for free radical scavenging activity against the DPPH and superoxide anion radical scavenging assays. All extracts were found ...
